Amphenol Piher Sensing Systems' PS2P-ARC position sensors are not affected by radial and axial clearance on the pivot joint, thus avoiding poor operating performance and labor intensive maintenance schedules due to unaligned. Magnets are connected to pivot joints for rotating parts, and electronic modules are connected to the case (and vice versa).

Sensors are easy to install without any gears or linkage, further reducing production line costs and improving reliability and durability over the life of the product. PS2P-ARC measures position changes with respect to the sensor by detecting the motion of a sinusoidal magnetized arcuate magnet located in a separate housing that is only sensitive to flux density coplanar with the IC surface.

The PS2P series complements non-contact linear (PS2p-lin) and angular (PS2p-con) position sensors. Despite extreme vibration, shock, temperature and pollution, all sensors in this series will maintain the same level of accuracy and stability throughout their life as they did on the first day of installation. As absolute sensors, they do not lose their value even after a power failure
