ADI iCoupler digital isolators improve signal reliability and ensure safe system operation
Analog Devices offers the industry's most robust line of digital isolators, the best combination of signal reliability, security and performance. The new isolator is based on Analog Devices' patented iCoupler digital isolation technology. For applications that operate in noisy, harsh, unpredictable healthcare and industrial environments, the new isolators ensure safe system operation.
Advances in healthcare technology continue to broaden the boundaries of design, such as requiring wired patient monitors to work continuously during defibrillation. The associated high-pressure transients are a heavy burden that must be removed to design a reliable, connected healthcare system. To protect data signals in this unpredictable environment, the new iCoupler digital isolator has the industry's highest surge protection rating, passing tests of 16 kVpk and withstanding voltage ratings of up to 5 kVrms. Unlike other digital isolators, Analog Devices' robust new iCoupler digital isolators can replace bulky optical couplers for harsh medical environments, providing a more compact solution.

The new digital isolator combines high-speed CMOS, single-chip air-core transformer technology and on-and-off key control (OOK) architecture to provide the highest noise resistance, the lowest electromagnetic interference (EMI) and the strongest surge protection, and has a broad market application prospect. Several products are now in mass production and will soon be available in different packages and channel numbers.
