A series of convection cooled power supplies that meet the requirements of IEC 60601-1 Medical safety standard CF

     Advanced Energy has introduced the NCF150 series of high isolation, low leakage current AC-DC power supplies to help medical device designers comply with the Heart Float (CF) standard of the IEC 60601-1 Medical safety standard with an off-the-shelf solution.

     Type CF is the highest medical electrical safety classification and is critical for medical devices that may come into direct contact with the heart, such as dialysis machines, cardiac systems, and electrosurgical platforms. Advanced Energy has introduced the SL Power NCF150 Series CF-rated AC-DC power supply, providing a standard, compact solution that combines the performance and reliability required for complex medical systems with the high isolation voltage and minimum leakage current required for CF certification.

     Advanced Energy says that to meet the requirements of the CF classification, extensive and expensive modifications to conventional power supplies are needed. With the introduction of the NCF150 series, Advanced Energy is helping medical Oems reduce the system-level components required for isolation, minimize overall system size and expense, and accelerate time to market.

     Advanced Energy's SL NCF150 series has a maximum output of 150w and is available in 12v, 15v, 19v, 24v and 48v voltages. 5v standby output and 12v fan output are optional. All devices in the SL NCF150 series have a patient leakage current of less than 10 μa, comply with EMI Class B standards, provide 2 MOPP isolation, and maintain defibrillator pulses up to 5 kV.
