Xsens launches full-featured, low-cost micro motion tracking module

     Xsens has released a complete new range of industrial and "production-consumer" applications, with its own 3D IMU/VRU/AHRS motion tracking modules extending its portfolio of successful 4th generation MTi. The new MTi 1 Series motion tracker is offered at a low cost while integrating the latest advanced sensor fusion and micro MEMS technology. Calibrated and tested to allow for minimal implementation work, the MTI 1 series offers 1-degree RMS roll and pitch dynamic accuracy, making them the most accurate 3D motion trackers in their class.

     Communication protocols and apis are the same across the Xsens portfolio; Makes it easy to integrate the low-cost MTi Series 1, the de facto industry standard MTi Series 10 and the high-performance MTi Series 100. Designers can choose from the widest selection of high-performance 3D motion trackers to choose the right Xsens motion trackers for their design, while re-using validated drivers and application code for other projects, greatly reducing engineering time and risk.

     MTI's Series 1 is a 12x12x2.5mm PLCC28-compatible module, which can output direction, acceleration, turning and magnetic fields at I2C, SPI or UART interface rates. The advanced and powerful signal processing pipeline, along with the proven XKF3 sensor fusion algorithm, guarantees unmatched performance in many applications, including robotics, agriculture, heavy machinery, handheld laser scanners and drones. The onboard processing of the module reduces the load on the application processor to reduce the overall power consumption of the end system while consuming less than 45 milliwatts. MTI Series 1 is CE and FCC certified.
