Vishay's new 5050 form factor automotive grade IHLP inductors operate at +180 ° C

     Vishay Intertechnology has announced the introduction of the new automotive IHLP 5050 form-factor inductor, the IHLP-5050FD-8A, which can operate continuously at +180 ° C in the engine compartment. The Vishay Dale IHLP-5050FD-8A has a height of 6.4mm and inductance values ranging from 0.22μH to 22μH.

     The performance of this inductor exceeds the requirements of AEC-Q200, and the frequency can reach 2MHz when used as an energy storage inductor in DC/DC converter, and the frequency can reach the natural vibration frequency of the inductor when used as a filter, providing high performance for DC/DC conversion and large current noise filtering in high temperature automotive systems, and saving space and energy consumption. Applications include engine and transmission control units, fuel injection drives, motor noise suppression, wipers, HID and LED lighting, heating and ventilation, and other applications that require operation at high temperatures.

     The IHLP-5050FD-8A can handle high transient current spikes without hard saturation. The device is packaged in a 100% lead-free, shielded composite structure that reduces buzzing noise to ultra-low levels, provides a specified operating temperature range of -55 ° C to +180 ° C, and is highly resistant to thermal shock, moisture, mechanical shock and vibration. Inductors comply with RoHS and Vishay green standards and are halogen-free.
