The peak pulse power of industrial-grade TVS is 600W
Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. has released four new series of surface-mount industrial-grade TRANSZORB and auto-grade PAR TVS in a low-key DFN3820A package with wettable sides. The 6DFNxxA, 6DFNxxxCA, T6NxxA and T6NxxxCA provide space-saving solutions for automotive, computer, consumer and industrial applications with peak pulse power of 600W at 10/1000μs and leakage current as low as 1μA.
The first package in the company's new Power DFN series, the device features a compact 3.8mm x 2mm size and an extremely low typical height of 0.88mm, enabling Vishay General Semiconductor TVS to make more efficient use of PCB space. Compatible with SMP (DO-220AA) package, it is 85% smaller than SMB (DO-214AA) and 42% smaller than SlimSMAW (DO-221AD), but maintains peak pulse power consumption of 10/1000μs waveform at 600W.
The device is designed to protect sensitive electronic devices from inductive load switching and voltage transients caused by lightning. The 6DFNxxA and 6DFNxxxCA TRANSZORB TVS will be used for signal line protection for server power modules, digital media controllers, AV signal expanders for computer and consumer applications, as well as industrial robot control panels, process/flow control meters, and automation systems.
The T6NxxA and T6NxxxCA PAR TVS are AEC-Q101 certified and provide high temperature operation at +185 ° C for automotive load dump protection. Typical applications include ADAS, BMS, EPS and infotainment systems; Central control unit; OBC; DC-DC converter and traction inverter; And motor drive.
TVS has excellent clamping capabilities, with maximum clamping voltages from 16.7V to 70.1V for 6DFNxxA and T6NxxA, and 16.7V to 137V for 6DFNxxxCA and T6NxxxCA. The wettable flanks of its DFN3820A packaging allow AOI, eliminating the need for X-ray inspection. Ideal for automatic placement, the rectifier provides an MSL humidity sensitivity class of 1, with a maximum LF peak of 260C per J-STD-020. The device is rohs compliant and halogen-free, and its tinned leads comply with JESD 201 Level 2 whisker testing.
