The LYTSwitch-6 LED driver IC achieves high efficiency and extremely low standby power

     Power Integrations, the industry leader in high efficiency, high reliability LED driver ics, introduces the LYTSwitchTM-6 series of secure isolated LED driver ics, adding a new option for smart lighting applications. The new IC offers a 65W flicker-free output, up to 94% efficiency, and standby power as low as 15 mW, while offering configuration options to support two-stage or single-stage PFCS. The LYTSwitch-6IC is designed for home and commercial lighting as well as thin ceiling recess light applications, and its fast dynamic response provides excellent cross-adjustment rates for parallel LED string applications, eliminating the need for additional secondary regulator circuits.

     It is also easy to connect the pulse width modulation (PWM) dimming interface. LYTSwitch-6IC supports both constant voltage (CV) and constant current (CC) control, enabling lighting manufacturers to choose one solution for different design applications, resulting in production and logistics savings. Advanced thermal reentry protection protects the IC from excessive temperature and provides illumination with temperature rise under any high temperature environment and operating conditions

     With integrated 650V or 725VMOSFETs and secondary side FluxLinkM control, the LYTSwitch-6IC provides better than 3% constant voltage and constant current adjustment accuracy across all input voltages, loads and temperatures without the need for an optocoupler. Thanks to synchronous rectification and quasi-resonant switching, the efficiency of the power conversion stage with flyback topology can exceed 94%, so high power output can be provided without the use of heat sinks. For example, a 35W(12V/2.92A) design using an additional PFC circuit can achieve efficiencies of more than 89%. The standby power of the new device is always less than 15mW under common AC input conditions, even when the input voltage detection circuit is available, which allows the IC to provide self-protection from mains voltage surges and surges.
