Texas Instruments introduces mixed-signal MCU data sheets with CAN-FD interface

     The Texas Instruments MSPM0Gx51x MCU is part of the MSP family of highly integrated, ultra-low power 32-bit MCUS based on the enhanced Arm Cortex-M0+ 32-bit core platform, operating at frequencies up to 80MHz. These MCUS provide cost optimization and design flexibility for applications requiring 256KB to 512KB of flash memory in small packages (down to 5mm x 5mm) or high pin count packages (up to 100 pins). These devices include dual CAN-FD controllers, network security enablers, high-performance integrated simulations, and provide superior low-power performance over the operating temperature range.

     Up to 512KB of embedded flash program memory with built-in ECC and up to 128KB of SRAM (the first 64kB has ECC and parity protection). Flash memory is organized into two primary repositories to support live firmware updates and provide address exchange support between the two primary repositories.

     Flexible network security enablers can be used to support secure booting, secure field firmware updates, IP protection (memory only), key storage, and more. Hardware acceleration provides a variety of AES symmetric cryptographic modes and TRNG entropy sources. The network security architecture is awaiting Arm PSA Level 1 certification.

     A set of high-performance analog modules such as two simultaneous sampling 12-bit 4Msps ADCs supporting up to 27 external channels, on-chip reference voltage (1.4V or 2.5V), a 12-bit 1Msps DAC, and three high-speed comparators with built-in 8-bit reference Dacs operate in low power and high-speed modes.

     The company's MSPM0 family of low-power MCUS consists of varying degrees of analog and digital integration, enabling customers to find the MCUS that meet their project needs. The MSPM0 MCU platform combines the Arm Cortex-M0+ platform with the overall ultra-low power system architecture, enabling system designers to improve performance while reducing power consumption.

     The MSPM0Gx51x mcu is supported by an extensive hardware and software ecosystem, with reference designs and code examples to get started quickly. The development kit includes a LaunchPad that can be purchased. The company also offers a free MSPM0 SDK that is available as a component of the desktop and cloud versions of the Code Composer Studio IDE in TI Explorer. The MSPM0 mcu also has extensive online collateral, training from the MSP Academy, and online support from the TI E2E Support Forum.
