Microsemi introduces the innovative TimeProvider 5000 system

     Microsemi Corporation has announced the release of software version 2.2 of the award-winning TimeProvider 5000, which supports the ITU-T G.8275.1 Phase synchronization specification through software upgrades and license keys. The new software version now supports Synchronous Ethernet and the IEEE 1588 Precision Time Protocol (PTP) phase specification. The PTP phase specification will help Meco Semi customers use available spectrum more efficiently and provide a more reliable network. The innovative TimeProvider 5000 is deployed in more than 200 PTP frequency synchronization networks around the world and is now able to support the new PTP phase synchronization specification.

     The software upgrade, which is available for both Meko Semi's widely installed and newly deployed devices, allows operators to leverage and extend their installed PTP master clocks to support the new ITU phase-synchronous telecommunications specification.

     According to the Global Mobile Suppliers Association (GSA), A total of 79 operators have introduced, deployed or are trialling LTE Advanced(LTE-A) technology in their networks. Twenty-one operators have launched LTE-A carrier aggregation technology in 14 countries.

Enables wireless carrier networks to seamlessly transition to ensure their LTE-A and small cell sites are deployed and provide high-quality service.
