Integrated code generator launched to support new 32-bit RISC-V MCUS

     In a collaboration with Renesas Electronics, SEGGER announced that the embedded studio is now integrated into Renesas' code generator called Smart Configurator. This brings end-to-end SEGGER support to the new R9A02G021 family of MCUS, Renesas Electronics' first 32-bit RISC-V device for general-purpose applications.

     Renesas Smart Configurator allows design engineers to graphically configure all MCU peripherals, such as timers, interfaces, and interrupt controllers, to generate source code projects ready to be built in an embedded studio. Engineers can use the excellent code optimization of the built-in C/ C ++ compiler and the market-leading debugging capabilities of the J-Link debug probe to quickly bring their RISC-V designs to market.

     The two companies have worked together on this project from the beginning to ensure top-of-the-line support for the new MCU and to prove that SEGGER's toolchain is the first choice for RISC-V users.

     RISC-V's ecosystem of SEGGER development tools includes Embedded Studio(a multi-platform IDE with a highly optimized C/ C ++ SEGGER compiler), Ozone(a full-featured graphics debugger), and SystemView(a real-time recording and visualization tool). It also includes programming and debugging support with the industry-leading J-Link series of debugging probes.

     For the production phase, SEGGER's powerful and reliable Flasher series of in-line programmers provide high yield. These production tools inherit J-Link's programming support for group R9A02G021. Programming of external memory via microprocessor is also supported.
