Diodes Incorporated introduces a 10Gbps automotive compliant crossover switch
Diodes Incorporated introduces 10Gbps automotive compliant crossover switches that bring added convenience and performance to the most advanced in-car connectivity. The company's new switch, PI3USB31532Q, is designed to route USB 3.2 and DisplayPort 2.1 signals via USB Type-C connectors, is designed to route USB 3.2 and displayport 2.1 signals via USB Type-C connectors, ensuring high signal integrity and power savings compared to traditional crossbar multiplexers and Redrivers. The crossbar switch is aimed at the rear-seat entertainment system and the smart cockpit with a large HD display.
The device supports three USB Type-C compliant configuration modes, giving designers a variety of options. It can connect the single channel of USB 3.2 Gen 2 to the USB Type-C connector; Connect one USB 3.2 Gen 2 channel and two DP 2.1 UHBR10 channels; Connect one USB 3.2 Gen 2 Channel and two DP 2.1 UHBR10 channels; Or connect the four channels of DP 2.1 UHBR10. When configured as a DisplayPort, the device also connects complementary AUX channels to USB Type-C sideband pins :SBU1 and SBU2. Its configuration is controlled by I2C or on-chip logic, utilizing four external pins.
Packaged in a 40-pin W-QFN3060-40 and measuring just 3mm x 6mm, the device offers flexibility and performance while offering space-saving form factor benefits. The 8.3GHz -3dB bandwidth ensures high signal integrity, with insertion loss, return loss and crosstalk of -1.7dB, -15dB and -38dB respectively at 10Gbps.
The new cross switch is automotive standard compliant - AEC-Q100 Level 2, allows for use in environments ranging from -40 ° C to +105 ° C, is manufactured in an IATF 16949 certified plant, and has PPAP functionality.
